- Comment s’est effectuée la sélection des élèves participants ?
How were the participating students selected?
|
The selection process primarily targeted 5th grade students, who were the main focus group of the mobility. Parents were invited to an information meeting at school, during which the programme activities and the mobility to Belgium were presented in detail. Following the meeting, parents were asked to express their interest in their children’s participation. When making the final selection, students’ overall school performance, their level of English language competence, and their willingness to actively participate in extracurricular activities related to the project were taken into consideration. All students meeting these criteria whose parents had expressed interest were included in the mobility.

One of the most memorable moments of the mobility for us was the visit to Pairi Daiza Zoo. Students were fascinated by the opportunity to see animals from all over the world in spacious, natural habitats that closely resemble their real environments. Walking through the park felt like travelling across different continents in a single day. The visit sparked great curiosity, lively discussions, and a deeper appreciation for nature and biodiversity, making it an unforgettable experience for both students and teachers. As one of my students said: “This was the best day in my life!”

- Quelle activité a été la plus intéressante pour vous ?
Which activity was the most interesting for you?

All participants in the Bulgarian team thoroughly enjoyed the Cap Sciences activities at the host school. They found it particularly exciting to work in mixed groups with peers from other countries, exchanging ideas and collaborating on various tasks. While they found all the experiments and hands-on activities very engaging, their favorite was the “Young Archaeologists” session. In this activity, they had the opportunity to explore and investigate like real archaeologists, learning how excavation work can reveal information about climate and weather patterns from the past.

All the visits during the mobility were highly engaging and left a lasting impression on both students and teachers. Among them, three visits stood out as particularly memorable. During the visit to the European Parliament, students had the unique opportunity to witness the work of the Democratic Forum, gaining a firsthand understanding of European democratic processes and institutions. The trip to the Atomium offered an unforgettable experience of exploring one of Belgium’s most iconic landmarks, combining architectural fascination with stunning panoramic views of Brussels. Finally, the evening spent at the fair in Mons provided a lively and enjoyable cultural experience, filled with entertainment and a festive atmosphere.
